The Kingston Cleaning Services team laced up their walking boots this weekend to take part in a charity pub-to-pub walk in support of Dove House Hospice.
The event brought together colleagues, friends and supporters for a day of fundraising, fresh air and good humour, all in aid of a much-loved local charity that provides vital care and support to people and families across the community.
Setting off from Hull University early in the afternoon, the KCS crew made their way to The Goodfellowship Inn before continuing the route into Cottingham, stopping at The Cross Keys along the way. From there, the walk continued through Mill Beck Nature Reserve, Creyke Beck, Poplar Farm and Skidby Lakes, where the team took the chance to refuel with some well-earned lunch.
The group then continued through Skidby, passing The Half Moon, Mill Road, Keldgate Road and Harland Way, before reaching their final stop at The Duke of Cumberland.
Spirits stayed high throughout the walk as the team clocked up the miles and turned the day into a moving celebration of community, teamwork and charity. The event was a great reminder that the KCS crew know how to make a difference while enjoying time together outside of work.
The final fundraising total is still being counted, but early signs suggest the walk has raised a fantastic amount for Dove House Hospice. The team have already hinted that this could become an annual tradition, with a well-earned drink at the final stop marking the end of this year’s journey and the start of planning for the next one.
Dove House Hospice continues to provide comfort, dignity and personalised care when it matters most. With the support of nurses, volunteers, fundraisers and the wider community, the hospice is able to continue helping local families during some of life’s most difficult moments.
