Project Overview
Kingston Cleaning Services was appointed to carry out an annual high level internal clean at Hull Royal Infirmary, a major trauma centre located on Anlaby Road in Hull. The newly constructed atrium, serving as a central entrance area for the hospital, required a specialist approach due to its height, continuous 24-hour public access, and sensitive medical environment. In close coordination with hospital facilities management, KCS developed a tailored plan to carry out the works overnight, ensuring no disruption to staff, patients, or daily hospital operations. Key considerations included safe zoning of work areas, floor protection over underfloor heating systems, and strict adherence to infection control protocols.
What We Did
To safely access elevated areas within the atrium, KCS operatives utilised a Genie GS-2632 scissor lift paired with premium ground protection matting to prevent damage to the underfloor heating. Our high-level cleaning operatives used a combination of triple motor vacuum systems and the Dragonfly internal cleaning kit, specifically designed for indoor use, to reach high ledges, fittings, and ceiling fixtures. The cleaning process focused on removing dust, debris, and airborne contaminants that build up in high, hard-to-reach spaces—critical in healthcare settings. This type of preventative cleaning helps maintain compliance with NHS hygiene standards, protects patient and staff safety, and upholds the trust and reputation of the facility. The project was completed efficiently, on time, and without disruption to the hospital’s vital 24/7 operations.
