Key Health & Safety Points:

  • We run a stop the job policy, where all staff are trained and instructed that unless fully trained/deemed competent that they must ‘stop the job’ until safe practices are put in place.
  • All staff receive a detailed induction video with questions/answers test afterwards that they must pass. All staff also receive monthly digital toolbox talks with a questions/answers test.
  • All specialist cleaning staff go through IOSH training courses along CSCS exams. Supervisors are SSSTS Trained and we have a high proportion of First Aid trained staff.
  • 2 members of our management team (Sean and Jamie) are NEBOSH Qualified, and another 2 (Michelle and Richard) are IOSH Qualified.

  • All specialist cleaning are fully trained in carrying out Dynamic Risk Assessments and are trained in PDA usage that give detailed site reports and highlight H&S issues which we use to help clients improve their sites in safe working practices. We use a CRM system that enables us to book, plan and deliver services and work with client on Pre Planned Maintenance.

Our Health & Safety Policy

Our vision is to be the best at Health and Safety. The first step towards achieving this is a programme of actions under a safety excellence banner, as the welfare, safety, health and wellbeing of our employees and customers and the people they serve is of paramount importance to us.

Over the past eight years Health and Safety in the cleaning industry has become increasingly important and gone are the days when a cleaner should turn up on their own with a ladder and a bucket to clean windows. The introduction of the Working at Height restrictions in November 2005 quite rightly revolutionised the way window cleaners carry out their work.

At KCS we understand that safety is a priority at all workplaces. Our cleaners are fully trained and inducted into each site, allowing us to offer a great cleaning service while complying with current Occupational Health and Safety regulations. We employ our own Health & Safety and Compliance Manager, who carries out full audits and site visits, as well as providing training, inductions and other support where necessary.

As a company we are committed to providing a service which is safe for both our customers and our staff. We are able to provide Risk Assessments and Method Statements for any job, large or small and we have achieved and maintained accreditation with Safecontractor and CHAS health and safety schemes.
