Project Overview
Pickering and Ferens Homes, a well-established charity providing nearly 1,400 homes for older residents across Hull and the East Riding, required professional roof cleaning across a number of their bungalows. Over time, the tile roofs had built up moss, algae and dirt, causing the properties to look weathered and increasing the risk of moisture damage. Regular maintenance is vital for older housing stock, as trapped moss and vegetation can weaken tiles, reduce roof lifespan and lead to costly repairs if left untreated. Our team were brought in to restore the roofs, improve appearance and protect the long-term condition of the properties.
What We Did
We carried out a full roof clean using our Sky Wash Roof Cleaning System, a specialist high-reach pressure washing solution designed for safe and effective cleaning of tiled roofs. This allowed us to remove moss, algae, dirt and lichen without causing damage to the tiles. The process helps prevent moisture retention, tile cracks and frost damage, while also refreshing the overall look of each bungalow. By the time the work was complete, the roofs were restored to a much cleaner condition, supporting the charity’s commitment to maintaining high-quality, safe and welcoming homes for their residents.
