Project Overview
Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in Britain, has stood since the 17th century, originally serving coal miners and travellers. Its remote location and extreme weather make access a challenge, and the team had struggled to find a reliable contractor to carry out a TR19-standard extraction clean. Kingston Cleaning Services was contacted after several specialist cleaning companies failed to attend. We carried out a free site survey to assess the system and determine the requirements to complete the work to TR19 standards.
What We Did
Following acceptance of our quote, we worked closely with the team at Tan Hill Inn to avoid disruption to their daytime trade. Cleaning was scheduled overnight, allowing them to continue serving hot food during operating hours. Our TR19-compliant clean included full manual scraping and chemical degreasing of all accessible ducting and components. Post-clean verification included photographic evidence, deposit thickness test results, and all required documentation such as system schematics and chemical data.
Every surface was tested to ensure grease levels were below 50 microns in line with compliance standards. Although not a legal requirement, TR19 compliance is often essential to maintaining valid insurance, and our service gave the client full peace of mind.
